The of Ghana is rerunning the 2024 parliamentary election for 19 polling stations in the Ablekuma North constituency in the Greater Accra Region today, Friday, July 11, 2025.
The rerun was occasioned by the failure to authenticate the election results of the affected polling stations due to the destruction of their pink sheets during the collation of the election results for the constituency after the December 7, 2024, election. 's Nana Akua Afriyie, a former Member of Parliament for the constituency, is challenging Ewurabena Aubynn of the ruling for the seat.
The outcome of this rerun is likely to have a tremendous impact on the balance of power in Ghana's Parliament.
If the NDC emerges victorious at the end of the election, it will have 184 seats in Parliament, giving it an absolute majority in the House.
