Some eligible voters within the Ablekuma North constituency will head to the polls today, Friday, July 11, 2025, to elect a Member of Parliament and bring an end to months of electoral uncertainty.
The elections, taking place in 19 constituencies, aim to resolve a prolonged dispute and restore parliamentary representation to the area, which has been without an MP since December 2024.
The political impasse stems from the December 7, 2024, general elections, where the outcome of the parliamentary contest in Ablekuma North became one of the most hotly contested results in the country.
Disagreements between the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) centered on the authenticity of pink sheets and the collation process across the 62 polling stations.
