A lecturer at Kumasi Technical University, Dr Solomon Kwarteng Forkuo, has called on the government to establish specialised health facilities across Ghana to enhance healthcare delivery, particularly in underserved rural communities.

According to him, decentralising specialised care would reduce the need for long and costly travel to urban hospitals.

Dr Kwarteng Forkuo believes that such facilities would not only bring critical healthcare services closer to the people but also cut down on transportation expenses for patients who currently travel miles for treatment. "Many rural dwellers cannot afford to travel to major cities for healthcare.

Creating specialized centres within reach will help save lives and reduce financial burdens," he said.
