Three armed robbers have been sentenced to 10 years in prison each for attacking and robbing residents at Boubai in the Asokore Mampong Municipality of Kumasi.

Mamudu Issah, Samuel Takyi, and Alhassan Abubakari, all aged 18, were part of a six-member gang that used machetes and unregistered motorbikes to rob victims of mobile phones, bags, and cash on July 1, 2025.

In a statement signed by the Head of the Public Relations Unit of the Ghana Police Service in the region, DSP Godwin Ahianyo, it was revealed that community volunteers apprehended the suspects and handed them over to the police, along with ten recovered mobile phones and three bags believed to have been stolen.
