The Blue Skies Foundation has inaugurates a fully furnished three-unit classroom block and an ICT Centre for the Panpanso Krokesse Junior High School in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipality of the Eastern Region. The modern facility, which includes a staff common room, headteacher's office, library, toilet, and storage rooms, is expected to significantly improve access to quality education in the community.Previously, students in the Panpanso Krokesse community had to walk several kilometers to access Junior High School education in neighbouring towns due to the absence of a nearby facility. The new infrastructure is a major step towards bridging that gap and ensuring that children are able to receive education within their own community.Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Head of the Blue Skies Foundation and Corporate Affairs Manager of Blue Skies Products Ghana Limited, Mr Alistair Djimatey, highlighted the foundation's commitment to improving education in underserved communities. He recounted that the foundation had earlier constructed a three-unit classroom block to cater for Kindergarten and Lower Primary pupils. He stated that the initial intervention was followed by another three-unit block built by the government to complete the Primary School structure."As enrolment increased, the need for a Junior High School became critical, he revealed that pupils had to travel long distances to continue their education, which affected attendance and performance."When the school appealed to us, we did not hesitate to support.
Today, we are proud to hand over this modern facility that will bring education closer to the children," Mr Djimatey said.He expressed confidence that the new infrastructure, especially the ICT Centre, would expose students to modern learning tools and digital resources that would prepare them for the future. The Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipal Director of Education, Madam Beatrice Mamle Nkum, lauded the Blue Skies Foundation for its continuous investment in education. She noted that a conducive learning environment played a vital role in improving academic performance and student motivation."Providing this ultra-modern school facility has solved a major challenge for the community.
We assure you that the Directorate will ensure proper supervision and maintenance of the school to preserve this important investment," she said. She also encouraged the school management and community members to take responsibility for protecting the facility. The Headteacher of Panpanso Krokesse MA Basic School, Madam Lydia Akortia, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the foundation for its timely intervention. She emphasised the impact the new classrooms and ICT Centre would have on the students and teaching staff."We now have a better place to teach and learn, and our pupils will no longer have to travel far to access education.
We, however, appeal to the Directorate to post more teachers to the school and also assist with additional classroom furniture and computers to fully equip the ICT Centre," she said. FROM AMA TEKYIWAAAMPADU AGYEMAN, NSAWAM
