President John Dramani Mahama has announced a sweeping set of measures to ensure transparency and accountability in the operations of the newly inaugurated Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) Taskforce.

The president declared that all taskforce members will operate under strict oversight, including the use of body-worn cameras during every operation while speaking at the official launch held at the National Security Secretariat on Tuesday, July 8. "Every member of the task force will operate under strict oversight.

All officers will wear body cameras in every operation they undertake," President Mahama stated, emphasizing the government's commitment to transparency in the fight against illegal gold smuggling and mineral-related corruption.

The GoldBod Taskforce, composed of personnel drawn from the military, national security, and other law enforcement agencies, has been established to safeguard Ghana's gold resources and clamp down on illicit activities in the mining sector.
