Samia Nkrumah, the former chairperson of the Convention People's Party (CPP) and daughter of Ghana's first President, Dr.
Kwame Nkrumah, has disclosed that she received a request from Nana Kwame Bediako, widely recognized as Cheddar, to serve as his running mate in the forthcoming general election.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Bola Ray on Starr FM on Thursday, September 5, 2024, Samia confirmed the circulating rumors regarding the invitation.
However, she declined the offer, citing her deep-rooted commitment to the people of Jomoro, a constituency she has long served and invested in.
Samia explained that her focus has been on building and nurturing Jomoro, where she once served as a Member of Parliament. She emphasized that her passion lies in the development of the constituency, and shifting her attention to national politics as a running mate would not align with the work she has dedicated to the constituency.
