There was a news report on GhanaWeb on July 7, 2025, published under the headline: "Dr.
Bawumia is the best economist to turn Ghana's economy around - Boakye-Danquah." The report stated that former government spokesperson on governance and security, Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, had lauded former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as Ghana's most capable economist and the right man to lead the nation on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to the report, Boakye-Danquah described Dr.
Bawumia as "the best economist that Ghana would have, that Ghana has had, and the future of Ghana." He was also alleged to have commended both the media and the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for what he described as their admiration for Dr Bawumia, adding that it reflects the NPP flagbearer's credibility. "I see that the media houses and even the NDC have a lot of admiration for the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party.
