Islamic cleric, Sheikh Abdul Malik Maiga, has called on President John Mahama to consider embracing Islam as a way to deepen his spiritual connection with Allah and to continue benefiting from divine favor.
According to him, the Almighty Allah chose President Mahama to lead Ghana at this time in the nation's history in order for citizens to benefit from his remarkable leadership qualities and unique political experiences acquired over the years.
Delivering his Jummah sermon at Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East municipality of the Central Region on Friday, July 4, 2025, Sheikh Maiga emphasized that the President Mahama's ascent to power was nothing short of divine intervention, noting that he became President without a traditional electoral vote, a circumstance he described as a sign of Allah's special favor. "Allah has truly shown His mercy and favour upon President Mahama," Sheikh Maiga stated. "His political trajectory and the circumstances of his rise are a testament to divine intervention.
It is only fitting that, to continue enjoying this divine favour, he considers embracing Islam," Sheikh Maiga added.
