MyNewsGh.com has confirmed that the Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson, PhD, was not truthful when he said the government had transferred an amount of GH¢987,965,730 into the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) as the first-quarter allocation for 2025.

Our checks with the various District Assemblies, a month after the Finance Minister's announcement, indicate that no such funds have hit their accounts.

It is not clear when the various district assemblies will be provided with the funds to help support their activities.

Raising concerns on this issue is the Akyem Swedru Member of Parliament, Kennedy Nyarko Osei, who believes that the government is "doing this just to keep their books clean and create a temporary economic stability at the expense of the country's development".
