Evangelist and former spiritualist, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, widely known as Nana Agradaa, has been handed a 15-year prison sentence by the Circuit Court in Accra after being found guilty of deceptive advertisement and defrauding by false pretence.

The conviction stems from a 2022 television broadcast in which Agradaa claimed she had the supernatural ability to double money for anyone who brought her cash.

Dozens fell victim to the false claims, handing over large sums in anticipation of spiritual financial gain that never came.

Prior to sentencing, the court mandated a pregnancy test-a legal requirement under Ghanaian law-which confirmed she was not pregnant, allowing the sentencing to move forward.
