The Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Haruna Mohammed, has accused the Electoral Commission (EC) of contradicting its own records regarding the number of polling stations pending collation in the contested Ablekuma North parliamentary election.

The EC, in its July 2 press release, stated that although scanned Pink Sheets from all 37 polling stations had been approved by party agents, only 18 had accompanying verification from the relevant Presiding Officers.

The rest-19 polling stations-would therefore require fresh elections.

But Mohammed insists the EC is undermining its own records and exposing itself to public suspicion. "The EC has implicated themselves [itself]," he declared.
