Okaikwei Central MP, Patrick Yaw Boamah, has advised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to prioritise the election of new party executives before choosing its 2028 presidential candidate, describing the move as essential to securing unity and operational effectiveness ahead of the next general election.
In a letter dated Wednesday, July 2, Mr.
Boamah said the next flagbearer must work in tandem with a fresh team of party leaders who are fully mandated and aligned with the new direction the party intends to take.
According to him, electing the flagbearer before the expiration of the current executives' tenure risks undermining cohesion during the campaign. "The flagbearer is going to work with the new executives during campaigns for the 2028 elections.
