President hosted a special luncheon at the Jubilee House, the seat of government, on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, to honour senior citizens in the country.

The event was held to recognise their invaluable contributions to the nation's development as Ghana marked its 65th anniversary as a republic.

Ghana became a republic on July 1, 1960, transitioning from a constitutional monarchy with the British monarch as head of state to a fully sovereign nation with its own president.

This day is also celebrated as Senior Citizens' Day, acknowledging the contributions of older Ghanaians to the country's history and progress.
