Parliament has given the green light to a $360 million loan agreement between the government and the World Bank to aid the execution of the 2025 budget.
This loan is aimed at controlling inflation, clearing outstanding payments to contractors, and reducing the financial strain caused by losses in the power sector.
Deputy Finance Minister Thomas Nyarko Ampem announced this development in Parliament on Tuesday, July 1.
He stated, "The good news today is that contractors are going to be paid." He further explained, "The Auditor General has just concluded the audit of the arrears stock that we inherited.
