The Ashanti Regional Police Command has announced the arrest of several suspects involved in a string of armed robberies, with one suspect also confessing to rape.

According to the Deputy Superintendent of Police and Head of Public Affairs Unit/Ashanti Region, Godwin Ahianyo, "During interrogation, suspect Kwadwo Kyei Baffour admitted to participating in the robberies and confessed to raping a victim during one of the incidents." Additional suspects in custody include Kwadwo Konadu (28), James Asare Boateng (26), Emmanuel Asiedu (27), and Maxwell Gyimah (30).

Another suspect, Bernard Owusu Ansah-currently receiving medical attention under armed guard at KATH-led police to recover more firearms in his possession, including a Bruni Mod 92 Auto Cal 8mm pistol and a Ricol pump-action gun.

Weapons retrieved from the operation include a Taurus pistol, NP Cal 9x19mm pistol, a Jojeff pump-action shotgun, and a converted Foocico Cal 4.5mm pistol from suspect Joseph Oppong.
