The Member of for Assin South, Rev , has expressed deep regret that the anti-LGBTQ bill was not signed into law during the tenure of former President .
He believes its enactment would have significantly benefited the nation.
According to the MP, if the bill, which seeks to criminalise activities of the LGBTQ community, including homosexuality and lesbianism, had been passed, Ghanaians would not have witnessed the recent incident involving tourists identified as homosexuals entering the country and allegedly desecrating national monuments.
Ntim Fordjour stated that he would have been the "happiest Ghanaian" if former President Akufo-Addo had assented to the anti-LGBTQ bill after its passage by the 8th . "If under former president Akufo-Addo, the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values bill was signed, I would have been the happiest person.
