National Security operatives in the Ashanti Region have taken over the Akom Axel Load Station in the Afigya Kwabre North District over alleged misappropriation of funds.
According to Alhaji Abubakar Nje, Deputy Regional Security Coordinator, they received intelligence that some individuals were working at the station to enrich themselves without recording government revenue.
He cited instances where trucks were not being weighed, and the money was pocketed by individuals.
Speaking to Adom News, Alhaji Nje stated, "We have taken over the Axel Load Station in Akom till further notice to ensure sanity and protect government benefits." He mentioned that on June 4, nine cars were arrested, and during his supervision on June 9, only one car was recorded.
