Daniel Ofori, one of the three persons who petitioned President to remove embattled Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, has reacted to her address to Ghanaians on the ongoing hearing of the petitions.
In a statement dated June 7, 2025, Daniel Ofori accused the suspended Chief Justice of violating the 1992 Constitution with the comments she made about the ongoing process.
He indicated that he is not going to violate the Constitution by giving details of the ongoing hearing, adding that at the right time, he will address the people of Ghana. "The Chief Justice is acting in clear breach of the provisions of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana which require the inquiry to be in camera.
As a law-abiding citizen and out of respect for the constitutional process and the Committee, I will not seek to go on the path of the suspended Chief Justice, not even to correct plain falsehoods in her statements.
