The Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has described the ongoing process to remove suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo as a political charade lacking genuine constitutional merit.
Speaking on Channel One TV's "The Big Issue" on Saturday, June 28, Ahiagbah claimed that despite legal and institutional objections, the outcome of the process appears predetermined.
According to him, the Chief Justice has already been politically condemned, and the legal process underway is merely for show. "The point is that whether the Supreme Court determines anything, the door to any remedy was shut to her because the idea is that she must be gone.
Politically, that decision has been made, so what we are going through is just a charade.
