Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has accused critics and sections of the political establishment of unfairly targeting suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo in the ongoing proceedings related to her potential removal from office.

Speaking on Channel One TV's "The Big Issue", Ahiagbah dismissed complaints leveled against Justice Torkornoo in the various petitions seeking her removal, describing the move as baseless and dangerous to the integrity of Ghana's judicial system.

He maintains that if there were clear grounds of incompetence, there would be no objection to a legitimate removal process.

However, he argued that the current procedures being undertaken amount to nitpicking and a personal attack on Justice Torkornoo to oust her from office. "There is no evidence whatsoever that she is incapable.
