A dramatic and spine-chilling display of traditional rites left many mourners stunned during the one-week funeral observation of the late mother of popular Kumawood actor, Komfo Kolege, in the Ashanti Region.

The solemn occasion, held at Ejisu, took an unexpected turn when a traditional executioner, locally known as an "abrafo," performed a controversial and jaw-dropping ritual - biting off the head of a live fowl in full view of the crowd.

In a short video shared online, the executioner - clad in black cloth, with three machetes tucked into his garment and black paint on his face - is seen standing in front of a row of mourners as he bites off the head of the live fowl in a single motion.

The video captured several fear-stricken mourners watching the spectacle in shock.
