The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, has raised serious concerns over the fairness of the process surrounding the suspension and potential removal of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.
His remarks come in the wake of criticisms by the Minority in Parliament, who have described the proceedings as lacking transparency and integrity.
Speaking in an interview on Channel One Newsroom on Friday, June 27, the MP alleged that some government communicators are privy to details of the various complaints contained in the petitions, specifically, which ones had prima facie cases established and which did not, while the suspended Chief Justice herself has not been granted that same access.
According to him, this undermines the constitutional right to a fair hearing. "It is not about whether or not she is in the right or she is in wrong.
