The Minority in Parliament has criticised the process leading to the suspension and potential removal of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, describing it as lacking transparency and integrity.
The caucus asserts that the Chief Justice has been denied her fundamental human rights, particularly due to the absence of a formal notice establishing a prima facie case against her.
Addressing journalists in Accra on Friday June 27, the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, reiterated that Justice Torkornoo must be provided with all relevant documents necessary for her defence, stating that due process and fairness must be upheld in any proceedings involving such a high office. "She should have at her disposal everything necessary to defend herself.
In the absence of it, I think that the whole process has been undermined.
