According to him, this reflects hypocrisy, as the same individuals applaud the revolutions of foreign nations while opposing efforts by Ghanaians to commemorate their own revolutionary history.
Speaking at an event in Accra on June 26, 2025, Bagbin raised concerns that such actions could erase certain historical events.
He believes that the lack of celebration prevents younger generations from understanding the roots of these revolutions and from fully appreciating the country's history. "Ghana, a small uprising which turned into a revolution being led by young military officers, is seen as an anathema and not to be celebrated.
