Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has called on the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to ensure the timely release of the 2025 BECE results to ease the growing anxiety among students and their families.

Speaking at the 2025 WAEC Distinction Awards Ceremony on Thursday, June 26, the minister applauded WAEC and the Ghana Education Service (GES) for the smooth and credible conduct of this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

However, he emphasized the importance of swift feedback for the thousands of students awaiting their placement into senior high schools. "Let me commend you for a very successful BECE examination," Mr.

Iddrisu said. "What we expect from you now is the early, timely release of the results so that anxiety and anxiousness in the students will go down." The minister also used the occasion to announce a major legislative step towards equity in scholarship allocation in Ghana.
