Former Director of the Ghana School of Law, Kwaku Ansa-Asare, has condemned the suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo's recent public address, describing it as unacceptable and constitutionally inappropriate.

Speaking on Eyewitness News on June 25, 2025, Ansa-Asare criticised the Chief Justice's decision to publicly comment on the impeachment process initiated against her, arguing that it violates the tenets of the Constitution, which require such proceedings under Article 146 to be handled confidentially and not in the public domain. "I will not lend any legitimacy to what she has done.

It is unacceptable.

The Chief Justice, who is head of the judiciary, must abide by the tenets of the Constitution.
