Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has expressed concerns about the continuous existence of the New Patriotic Party should some members keep engaging in tribal and religious politics.
In recent times, some flagbearer hopefuls of the party and their officials have been preaching against the NPP electing a Muslim as their flagbearer.
They argue that a Muslim presidential candidate will not be supported by Christians.
Speaking at the launch of the NPP's Patriotic Institute in Accra on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, President Kufuor stated such comments threaten the very existence of the New Patriotic Party as a democratic party. "We are democratic and we uphold common humanity.
