Former Chief Executive of the Adentan Municipality, Ebenezer Doku, has defended the endorsement of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia by 220 former Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) who served under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) between 2017 and 2024.
In an exclusive interview on Channel One Newsroom on Monday June 23, he argued that Dr.
Bawumia's loss in the 2024 general election should not be placed solely on his shoulders, but rather be seen as a collective failure of the NPP.
According to him, internal issues, particularly the perception of arrogance within the NPP, contributed significantly to the party's defeat. "Our argument has been that our party members didn't vote, so it was not the case that Dr Bawumia himself didn't garner the vote.
