Kofi Tontoh, a political aide to Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has criticised former President John Dramani Mahama, questioning his credibility and labelling his recent promises as hypocritical.
On the Point of View on Channel One TV on Wednesday, Tontoh pointed out that Mahama, during his tenure as president, did not take action to cancel ex gratia payments, despite having the authority to do so. "First of all, you have been a president before.
You didn't cancel ex gratia when you had all the powers to cancel it, you didn't, but somehow you have an issue with someone who has not been a president before saying that he will cancel ex gratia.
This is hypocritical," Tontoh remarked.
Tontoh also criticised Mahama's record on government appointments, highlighting the large number of ministers during his administration. "There is evidence of you.
You have been in power.
President Mahama appointed 86 ministers.
Where is his credibility?
He has none." "He was actually the president.
Where is the credibility of John Mahama who had 86 ministers to now tell us he is going to reduce it to 60?
He has none," he stated.
Furthermore, Tontoh questioned Mahama's handling of disciplinary actions against his appointees, referencing an incident involving officials who travelled to Brazil. "Your boss has zero credibility.
When he had the chance to even punish his appointees who went to Brazil to sell kenkey, he called them to his office," Tontoh added.
