Former presidential staffer Dennis Miracles Aboagye has hit back at claims that Dr.
Mahamudu Bawumia is responsible for the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) so-called "worst electoral defeat," defending the Vice President's candidacy for the 2028 general elections.
He made the remarks during a media interview at the sidelines of Bawumia's meeting with former Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) monitored by MyNewsGh.
Reacting to criticisms that Bawumia, who led the NPP in the 2024 elections, should not be given another shot due to the party's loss, Aboagye dismissed the narrative as false and misleading. "First of all, it's false if anybody says it's the most unprecedented loss in the history of the party," he stated. "I think 41.7 percent is higher than 39 percent, and we've lost elections with 39 percent before.
