Minister of Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, has attributed the current standstill of road infrastructure across the country to overwhelming debt and what he described as irresponsible contract awards by the previous administration.

According to him, nearly all ongoing road projects, including the much-discussed Ofankor-Nsawam stretch, have come to a halt due to lack of funding. "There are many stalled projects due to debt.

We are picking up some of them, including the Ofankor, as part of the big push to prioritise their completion," Mr.

Agbodza said in a direct response to mounting pressure from the Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana (C-DAG).
