The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) is set to recruit 12,000 young Ghanaians over the next four years as part of a nationwide enlistment programme aimed at strengthening the country's security and addressing youth unemployment.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, in a Facebook post on June 20, 2025.
According to Dr Boamah, the initiative has received approval from President John Dramani Mahama and forms part of a broader strategy to boost the military's operational capacity while creating jobs for the youth. "This nationwide exercise has been approved by President John Mahama.
