The Electoral Commission (EC) has rejected claims by the Ghana Police Service that a pending Supreme Court case prevents the Commission from completing the collation of the Ablekuma North parliamentary results.

In correspondence and meetings held between the two institutions, the EC maintained that there is no injunction or court order restraining it from proceeding with the collation, contrary to what the Police claim.

According to a briefing presented to Parliament by the Deputy Chairperson of the EC, Dr.

Bossman Asare, the Commission had made several attempts to conclude the collation, including writing to the Police and National Security Taskforce for support. "… On 28th March, the commission wrote to the Ghana Police Service and informed them about the three polling station results which are still outstanding and the need to complete collation.
