The Electoral Commission (EC) has rejected claims by the Ghana Police Service that a pending Supreme Court case prevents the Commission from completing the collation of the Ablekuma North parliamentary results.
In correspondence and meetings held between the two institutions, the EC maintained that there is no injunction or court order restraining it from proceeding with the collation, contrary to what the Police claim.
According to a briefing presented to Parliament by the Deputy Chairperson of the EC, Dr.
Bossman Asare, the Commission had made several attempts to conclude the collation, including writing to the Police and National Security Taskforce for support.
