The Ghana Police Service has arrested a man for unlawful possession of suspected narcotic drugs following an intelligence-led operation in the Eastern Region.

The suspect, identified as Christopher Saigoe, was apprehended on June 17, 2025, at Nkurakan while driving a Sprinter Benz bus with registration number AS 1933-21.

According to a statement issued by the Police on June 19, 2025, a search of the vehicle uncovered five sacks of maize, within which were hidden seventy-eight oval-shaped, sellotaped balls of dried plant material suspected to be Indian hemp.

The concealed narcotics were discovered during a routine search as part of ongoing efforts by the Police to clamp down on drug trafficking across the country.
