Member of Parliament for Mpraeso, Davis Ansah Opoku, has thrown his support behind Bryan Acheampong's anticipated bid to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2028 general elections, describing him as a leader with the right vision and capabilities to move Ghana forward.

Speaking in an interview on Channel One TV's Citiuation Room on Thursday June 19, he described Acheampong, who currently serves as MP for Abetifi as a visionary leader with the ability to mobilise the right human capital to drive development.

Opoku said "Bryan Acheampong possesses what it takes to move Ghana forward and he's got ability to marshal resources in terms of the human capital needed to move Ghana forward.

He's got a clearer vision which very soon we are planning to let Ghanaians know and also most especially to the NPP delegates to consider him at the next polls." He stressed that while the official announcement is yet to be made, Acheampong is determined to contest the party's upcoming flagbearer race adding that internal consultations are ongoing, and Ghanaians will hear directly from Acheampong very soon. "I think that the committee is finalising its report, but I can confidently tell you that he is determined to contest and very soon the Ghanaian people would hear from him," Opoku stated.
