The Human Rights Court has dismissed an application by former Finance Minister Kenneth Ofori-Atta, who sought to prevent the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) from declaring him wanted.

He currently under investigation by the OSP and other state institutions for alleged misconduct during his tenure, filed the suit in an attempt to restrain the OSP from publishing a "wanted" notice and distributing his image online.

According to the Office of the Special Prosecutor, the former minister is the subject of an active Interpol Red Notice, with extradition proceedings already initiated to facilitate his return to Ghana.

This dismissed application is one of several civil actions filed by Ofori-Atta aimed at challenging the powers of the OSP and halting investigations tied to his period in office, the OSP said in an X post on Wednesday June 18.
