The Headmaster of the Big Six Educational Complex in Meduma in the Ahanti region has been granted bail following his arrest over allegations of barring two pupils from writing their first Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) paper.
On Monday, June 16, 2025, the headmaster reportedly confined the students to a room, accusing them of failing to pay school fees and missing mandatory pre-exam preparation.
As a result, the students, who were to take the Mathematics paper at the Simms High School in the Kwabre East Municipality, were unable to sit for the exam.
A police investigation was launched after the incident was reported, and the headmaster was arrested on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.
