Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has explained that recent delays in receiving U.S.
visas and passports are due to logistical issues with the United States Postal Service (USPS).
The Minister disclosed this information in Parliament on Wednesday while responding to mounting concerns about late visa deliveries that have caused distress among applicants in recent weeks.
Mr Ablakwa clarified that while visa and passport processing times have improved significantly, the current bottleneck occurs at the final delivery stage handled by USPS. "While the visa and passport issuance process has significantly improved, the primary challenge remains mainly in delays, largely due to logistical failures by the United States Postal Service," he noted.
