Supreme Court nominee, Justice Hafisata Amaleboba, has expressed concern over the persistent delays in the administration of justice due to excessive interlocutory applications in Ghana's courts.
She pointed out that the frequent filing of interlocutory applications often stalls cases, especially when such applications result in stays of proceedings pending appeals.
Speaking during her vetting before Parliament's Appointment Committee on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, Justice Amaleboba highlighted the need for procedural reforms to accelerate the pace of court proceedings.
She further suggested that procedures and processes should be shortened to expedite cases Justice Amaleboba recommended that the judiciary review its procedural timelines, including the period from filing a writ of summons to pleadings and application for directions.
