Parliament's Appointments Committee has commenced the vetting of President John Dramani Mahama's Supreme Court nominee Justice Hafisata Amaleboba.

The vetting is in line with constitutional procedures for approving nominees to the nation's highest court.

Justice Amaleboba, a seasoned member of the judiciary, is responding to questions on her legal principles, constitutional interpretation, and stance on judicial independence and accountability.

The Committee is also reviewing her judicial track record, professional experience, and capacity to effectively serve on the Supreme Court if confirmed.
