Reggae/Dancehall artiste Jupitar has opened up about feeling sidelined in the Ghanaian music industry due to tribalism and favouritism.
In an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, the "Enemies" hitmaker asserted that despite his longevity and contributions to Ghanaian music, he often feels unacknowledged at home. "If you consider me to be an up-and-coming artiste, then you've failed in the first place," he said.
He believes where one comes from plays a role in media support, citing how Ga-speaking artistes like Manye Fi have been advised to switch to Twi to gain traction.

"I win most of my battles in silence," he said, expressing frustration that the media tends to ignore his global wins in favor of artistes they are "cool with." He recalled being debated on this issue at Hitz FM and said he felt vindicated by ongoing conversations around industry biases.
