Political Scientist and Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Dr Kwame Asah-Asante, has expressed strong optimism that Ghana can achieve its development goals if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government maintains its current trajectory.
Speaking on JoyNews' AM Show, Dr Asah-Asante commended the government's early achievements while emphasising the need for steadfast focus and commitment to ensure the country reaches its intended destination. "I am hopeful, and I have no doubt in my mind that this government has started well," Dr Asah-Asante remarked. "I hope and pray that they remain afloat and deliver on all the promises made to the people.
From the little that is happening, there is hope.
If they stay on course, we will reach our destination." Directing his message to President John Dramani Mahama, Dr Asah-Asante urged the administration to prioritise economic restructuring and industrialisation as cornerstones of its Reset Agenda. "Mr President, economists and financial analysts have long stressed the urgent need to restructure Ghana's economy to create opportunities and meaningful employment so that people can earn a decent living.
