The Ranking Member on Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has urged Ghana to maintain a neutral stance amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran.
Addressing Parliament on Tuesday, June 17, Jinapor called for non-alignment in line with Ghana's traditional foreign policy orientation, while still condemning the actions fuelling the conflict. "For the ongoing hostility between Israel and Iran, we will remain non-aligned, just as our first president, Dr.
Nkrumah, said: 'Non-alignment does not imply indifference to the great issues of our day.
It does not imply isolationism,'" he stated.
