The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially set Saturday, January 31, 2026, as the date of its presidential primary.

At a pivotal meeting of the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the decision was made.

This declaration by Justin Frimpong Kodua, the party's general secretary, prepares the ground for a fierce race to choose the party's nominee for the general elections in 2028. "The Committee also spoke about the time for our presidential primaries.

And again, the Committee agrees that that decision does not warrant amendment of our Constitution.
