Supreme Court nominee, Justice Philip Bright Mensah, has emphasised the importance of including judicial staff in capacity-building initiatives.
Appearing before Parliament's Appointments Committee on Tuesday, June 17, he noted that training should not be limited to judges as the effectiveness of the judiciary relies on all members of the team.
Justice Mensah highlighted the contributions of accomplished registrars in the judicial service and stressed that for the service to grow, it is essential to enhance the skills of both judges and staff.
He reiterated his commitment to prioritising capacity building for all judicial personnel. "I will venture to say that when you are talking about training or capacity building, it should not be limited to judges because if the registrar doesn't know his work, the chances are that he can even mislead the judge.
