Supreme Court nominee, Justice Dennis Dominic Adjei, has stated that Ghana's presidential line of succession must remain strictly limited to the President, Vice President, and Speaker of Parliament, explicitly excluding the Chief Justice.

Speaking during his vetting before the Appointments Committee of Parliament on Monday, June 16, Justice Adjei argued that the 1992 Constitution was deliberately designed to cap the legitimacy of succession at these three offices to ensure an orderly and constitutional transfer of power. "It's not advisable to use the Chief Justice to exercise executive powers, it's not advisable.

It could be a bad practice.
