The Eastern Regional Police Command has intercepted two tipper trucks transporting 150 sacks of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

The trucks, with registration numbers GN 993-14 and GG 3674-20, were stopped at Apesua, near Nkurakan, where officers discovered the substances concealed beneath heaps of sand.

A statement issued by the Superintendent of Police Ebenezer Tetteh indicated that two drivers have been arrested and are assisting with investigations.

Their names remain undisclosed as inquiries continue.
