Nineteen individuals suspected of involvement in illicit drug trafficking and robbery have been apprehended by the police.

The arrests were made in the Kasoa Dominase area and at the Onion Market in the Central Region.

According to a police statement, exhibits retrieved during the operation included substances believed to be Indian hemp and controlled pharmaceutical drugs such as Tramadol and Red.

The suspects are currently in custody and are cooperating with ongoing investigations. "The Central East Regional Police Command, through a special operation on 12th June 2025, arrested 19 suspects in connection with illicit drug trade and robbery activities within the Kasoa Dominase enclave and the Onion Market in the Central Region. "The operation led to the arrest of the following suspects: Abubakari Ibrahim, Mohammed Awal, Shafiu Salisu, Hamza Amadu, Ali Adamu, Balhani Fuseini, Jamal Haruna, Zakari Abdulai, Abdul Aziz, Bera Kalidu, Moro Baki, Anthony Lucky, Razak Yussif, Sumani Issah, Sulley Mohammed, Abdul Salifu, Eliasu Bukari, Kamelo Muuk, and Osumanu Amadu. "Exhibits retrieved during the operation include substances suspected to be Indian hemp, as well as controlled pharmaceutical drugs such as Tramadol and Red. "All 19 suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with the investigation, and will be put before court in due course. "The Regional Command commends the personnel who carried out the operation and encourages them to remain steadfast in the fight against crime," the police statement, dated June 13, 2025, concluded.
