The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr , has suggested that the Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng (), faces the possibility of being prosecuted for his alleged role in the National Service Scheme (NSS) 'ghost names' scandal.
Speaking at a press briefing in Accra, on Friday, June 13, 2025, Dr Ayine disclosed that , who allegedly was paid to 'kill' the NSS scandal from being broadcast by the media, is still being questioned by investigators.
He added that the fate of the Gomoa Central legislator will be determined by how he cooperates with the investigation. "In the case of the famous , the investigation is still ongoing, and there are talks with him with respect to the role that he will play, either in respect of providing evidence against those who tried to do what is alleged to have been done, or if at the end of the day, no agreement is reached, then maybe he will have to stand trial," he said.
He added, "So the investigations are ongoing.
